RouterBOARD 1000 comes with an onboard encryption engine, however RouterOS releases before version 3.20 couldn’t use it’s full potential. Now the 3.20 software puts the encryption hardware into full use thus providing a fantastic 11 times speedup with 3DES encryption and 6,5 times speedup when using AES128 encryption!
MikroTik testing results state the following:
v3.19
AES128: 79Mbps
3DES: 45Mbps
v3.20
AES128: 510Mbps
3DES: 500Mbps
New MikroTik RouterBOARD 450G was announced, featuring five Gigabit ethernet ports, 256MB RAM, microSD card slot and powerful Atheros AR7161 680MHz CPU.
MikroTik announced a new 802.11a (5GHz) miniPCI wireless card - the R5H. I’ts a high power card, rated for up to 25dBm, with integrated surge protector and filter to reduce interference. These features make it a very attractive solution for professional and industrial purposes.
It’s a new high performance RouterBOARD with lots of ethernet ports - 9, and 3 miniPCI card slots. It’s built around the very fast Atheros AR7161 680MHz CPU, with 128Mb RAM memory and includes a Level5 RouterOS license.
MikroTik introduces the new extreme performance router - the RouterBOARD 1000! It has the most powerful CPU of all MikroTik devices so far, it’s powered by the next-generation PowerPC processor - Freescale Semiconductor PowerQUICC III Pro MPC8547E running on 1333MHz! The board features 4 Gigabit ethernet ports, 2 compact flash expansion slots for storage and 512MB RAM in a SODIMM slot. RouterOS with license level 6 is preinstalled.
New RouterBOARD 604 expansion board is introduced for the RouterBOARD 600 and RouterBOARD 500 series of devices. It provides 4 additional miniPCI slots so your RouterBOARD can have up to 8 miniPCI slots.
MikroTik announced the new tiny CPE/AP device - Crossroads. It’s the smallest device made by MikroTik so far and has an integrated 802.11b/g wireless card. One standard 10/100 ethernet adapter is also integrated on the board and there are no additional expansion slots.
MikroTik is about to introduce the new RouterBOARD 600 series of extreme performance AP’s with the new RB600A board. It has four miniPCI slots, three Gigabit ethernet ports and two CF slots for storage expansion. The new powerful platform is built around a PowerPC processor, Freescale Semiconductor PowerQUICC II Pro MPC8343E running at 266-400MHz. It also supports daughterboard expansion, including the addons made for the older RB532 board.
MikroTik introduces the next generation CPE device, the RouterBOARD 411. It’s the successor to the RouterBOARD 133c, using the same form factor but it is much more powerful. Initial tests indicate that the throughput is up to 3 times of the old RB133c. This is the first RouterBOARD to use the new line of Atheros CPU’s, the Atheros AR7130 running at 300MHz.
